My
name is Teri Blackstar and I was born in Newport, Oregon to a native
Cherokee family. Cherokee
elders taught me the culture and traditions of my people and I have
dedicated my life to the priesthood as of 1996.
I have spent many years learning the ceremonies and medicines of my
people. I have also spent
time with elders from other tribes learning their wisdom and healing ways.
Not to disparage my father’s lineage (English by way
of Iowa) I studied English Literature in college and currently hold a BA
in English Literature from the University of Dallas as well as an
Associates Degree in American Sign Language from Portland Community
College. I have worked in
many fields as an advocate for deaf culture as well as Native culture and
continue to work with people to help them experience their true spiritual
self in a good way.
Currently I am providing holistic healthcare for
animals large and small, wild and domestic.
I work with owners and their veterinarians to provide a full
spectrum of health care options including direct communication with the
animal, diagnosis of any energetic or emotional causes underlying the
physical symptoms, and herbal/Native American remedies to complement the
veterinarians care. For more
information please click
here. "I love animals."
I'm
currently working on my Masters Degree in Women's Spirituality. I
will continue to update this website as time allows. Thank you for your
interest and understanding..
